Sails Pavilion before construction.
Project Overview

A major enhancement to the Sails Pavilion began in December 2016 to the concrete floor, both inside (90,000 square feet of exhibit space) and the concrete walkways that surround the Pavilion.

In all, 106,000 sq. feet of flooring will be demolished and new concrete with new waterproofing was placed. The new design adds footings on the perimeter and at 30’ on center.

The project is funded by a $25.5 million state loan from the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank) that will finance eight projects. The loan, co-signed by the City of San Diego, is the largest ever approved by the IBank.
